Welcome to the website for the 2013 Partners in Progress program: an English-language teaching assistance collaboration and academic course of study in Costa Rica led by Berry College and the Fundación Progreso Guanacaste. The Fundación Progreso Guanacaste is a non-profit organization that serves as a bi-cultural bridge to offer community empowerment through better housing for those in need, integrated health services and accessibility to better quality education and educational infrastructure. As a part of this mission, the Fundación sponsors a program for Berry College students to teach English for seven weeks in the Guanacaste region. This program is designed to provide Costa Rican teachers assistance with English instruction in their classes. This year's program is lead by Prof. Julee Tate and Prof. David Slade (Spanish/Latin American and Caribbean Studies). Students will take two upper level courses cross-listed between SPA and LCS as part of the program. See the program description for more details.
